Hatching brine shrimp has never been easier! In this video I will show the quickest and simplest way to go from brine shrimp eggs to live brine shrimp that your fish will love. I’ll explain how to use a brine shrimp hatchery and show you some things to avoid so you don’t end up with a leaky mess in your home.

Live brine shrimp make a great addition to the menu for every fish keeper. Freshwater fish and saltwater fish both love a fresh hatch of brine shrimp as a tasty treat. Baby brine shrimp in particular are quickly gobbled up by picky fish such as mandarin dragonets. Hatching brine shrimp also comes in handy for feeding your fry if you are breeding fish.

Live brine shrimp have the most nutritional value for feeding your fish when they are first hatched, however raising brine shrimp into adults has its perks too. Adult brine shrimp can be fed a variety of foods to improve their nutritional value. The process is known as “gut loading” and it may sound a bit brutal, but it just means letting your adult brine shrimp feast on something like live phytoplankton or spirulina powder before using them.

We also have a great video on culturing phyto that your brine shrimp will love, here is the link https://youtu.be/z_bOkJVXY68

If you are looking to just hatch brine shrimp to feed your fish, raise brine shrimp into a sustainable population or just want some pet sea monkeys, this video should help.
